With everything that we design, we care about finding the right partner to help us craft the best possible products. We’re proud that our Wood Burning Hot Tub is made in Canada—built with a combination of exceptional craftsmanship and state-of-the-art machinery for an otherworldly soaking experience.
A massive amount of research and testing went into designing the Wood Burning Hot Tub, and it was essential to find the perfect partner to help us craft them. And, our team took their time finding a production partner that was just right—one that understood our values of attention to detail, durability, quality, and more.
We’re excited to share a behind-the-scenes look at our production studio and where our Wood Burning Hot Tub is made.
Our Production Studio
Our design team has exacting quality standards, and a huge amount of research and effort went into selecting the perfect production partner to help us create our Wood Burning Hot Tub. We wanted the experts—not only finding a partner that had experience with high quality craftsmanship, but also one that could use state-of-the-art machinery for the highest possible quality construction.
We found the perfect fit with an experienced and expert production partner based in Winnipeg, Manitoba. There, the team has the specialized skills that we needed—including strong expertise with both western red cedar and raw aluminum—to make the best possible wood fired hot tub. They shared our values of exceptional quality and attention to detail, and we’re proud that we can trust them with crafting the Wood Burning Hot Tub.
With our design studio based primarily in Vancouver, British Columbia, having a production studio just a couple of provinces away means that it’s easy for our design team to keep in touch and visit. Having a Canadian production facility for the Wood Burning Hot Tub helps us keep the quality standards high, support our local economy, and have a lower carbon footprint.
Building the Wood Burning Hot Tub
The production facility starts with raw aluminum and western red cedar, and transforms these raw materials into each element of the Wood Burning Hot Tub—like the lounge-inspired seating, the top-loading submerged stove, the chimney, and more.
Finding a production studio that was extremely skilled at working with these raw materials was essential. There are plenty of facilities that could’ve made our Wood Burning Hot Tub, but not necessarily to our standards.
Our Winnipeg production studio is incredibly detail-oriented, and has the deep expertise to tackle all of the design details we built into the hot tub. Take our aluminum shell—while other hot tubs have shells that have visible seams and rivets, we wanted to create one that was seamless and unified. Since our production studio is skilled at forming and welding aluminum—typically a difficult material to cleanly weld—they’re able to create an aluminum liner with double-welded and water-tight seams.
Getting Ready to Ship
Constructing a Wood Burning Hot Tub isn’t all there is, though. Less often thought of, but also essential: quality testing and packing.
Our Wood Burning Hot Tub design has been extensively tested, and our Winnipeg team pre-assembles every piece of the tub to ensure that each piece smoothly fits together before it ships out. A sampling of tubs are also regularly tested to make sure that they’re water-tight.
We also carefully consider how each Wood Burning Hot Tub is packed and delivered, to help make the entire experience as smooth and seamless as possible. All of the parts that you need—like the chimney and slats—are packed within the body of the hot tub for a more streamlined delivery and to help minimize the total number of packages. We choose to pack with all recyclable materials for a low environmental impact. Even the hardware is packaged in a paper bag—perfect to re-use to start your first fire in the Wood Burning Hot Tub.
Our Winnipeg production studio is a foundational part of our team, and we’re proud to have them work alongside us to create the perfect wood-fired bathing experience.
