Since we launched GOODLAND in 2021, a lot has changed. What began
as a small family project by myself and Kendra to design and sell the Wood Burning Hot Tub has expanded into a growing multi-category company. We now offer a collection of modern hot and cold tubs, an extensive garden collection, and other objects and tools intended for pause outdoors. With our background as builders and designers, we’re always seeking to create meaningful objects that encourage a connection with nature, and that fit a genuine need in the world.
A Timeline from Launch to Now
2020
The year that started it all. In 2020, myself and Kendra Pearce came up with the idea for GOODLAND. When the world shut down, it reinforced just how important finding time to pause outdoors was, leading them to design and test the first Wood Burning Hot Tub prototype.
2021
This was the year the Wood Burning Hot Tub Was finalized and our first full-time team member was hired. We sold 25 tubs in the very first month, which gave us early validation in the brand and prompted us to begin thinking about how we would scale the marketing team and our catalog.
2022
The next year, we hired our second full-time product designer. We also designed new accessories for our tubs and scaled our marketing efforts, working behind-the-scenes to build and grow.
2023
This was a big year for GOODLAND, with our Everlasting Garden Hose launch. Sold out multiple times, it clearly met a demand for an aesthetic and genuinely durable garden hose. This coincided with expanding into outdoor goods generally, with also introducing a range of plush towels and our Floating Thermometer.
2024
Responding to the success of our Everlasting Garden Hose, this year we continued expanding into garden accessories with a new warm grey colorway, our Wall-Mounted Hose Hanger, brass garden hose accessories, and more. We also collaborated with artist Anthony Esteves on a Soot Black version of our popular Wood Burning Hot Tub.
2025
At the beginning of this year we launched our much-requested Cold Tub, marking our expansion into a wide range of different tubs. We also saw huge growth in our Everlasting Garden Hose as we shipped them out internationally, and expanded our garden category with the Firewood Splitter.
What’s Next for GOODLAND?
In the past few years, we’ve been continuing to build and expand our catalog into gardening, outdoor living, and more. And, as we continue to grow GOODLAND, we’re keeping our exacting focus on premium quality and providing the best possible experience to everyone who purchases from and supports GOODLAND.
As GOODLAND enters this next phase, we’re growing our team. First, we’re looking for someone who can support us with inventory planning, supply chain coordination, forecasting, logistics and more. This Operations and Expansions Lead will be a true systems-minded operator who’s excited about shaping and scaling our brand during this next phase, all while keeping our ethos of quality.
We’re also keeping an eye out for our future Wholesale & Brand Partnerships Representative, who can drive building relationships with retailers, suppliers, hospitality groups, and architecture firms.
